Cherry Moon CBD: the fruity sweetness that resets you

Cherry Moon is the CBD flower we recommend to anyone who never warmed up to the « green » side of weed: a fruity-confectionery nose, accessible relaxation, zero earthy aftertaste.

Cherry Moon CBD: the fruity sweetness that resets you

Cherry Moon. The name sets the mood before you even open the jar. This flower built its reputation on an aromatic profile recognisable among thousands: ripe cherry, wild strawberry, a note that hints at confectionery without tipping into cloying. At Horus, we picked it because it reconciles people who never got along with « classic green » CBD flowers with the experience.

Where Cherry Moon comes from

The Cherry Moon genetics descend from a Cherry Pie cross with other fruity West Coast American varieties. It earned its place on European top shelves thanks to one specific trait: it keeps its fruity nose intact through drying and curing. Many strains lose some of their most delicate notes during the curing phase — Cherry Moon does not. That alone is what made it a sought-after variety among demanding indoor growers.

Our version is grown indoors, in a European facility selected for its strict approach to organic nutrients and a long drying phase (15 days minimum). No rushing, no aromatic flattening just to push the lot to market two weeks earlier.

The aromatic profile in detail

Three main notes define Cherry Moon:

  • Ripe cherry — the opening note, full, sweet, almost fresh cherry juice. It makes its mark the moment the jar opens.
  • Wild strawberry — mid-palate, more discreet but persistent. Adds freshness and prevents any « candy bar » effect.
  • Spiced vanilla — on the finish, long and indulgent. Surprising: you expect a fruity ending and you land on a bakery-style sweetness instead.

On the dominant terpenes side, you get a characteristic myrcene-caryophyllene profile, with a touch of linalool that explains the floral-confectionery component. This trio delivers a soft aromatic experience, with no medicinal or strongly herbaceous edge.

Our version: why Cherry Moon at Horus

The French CBD market is saturated with Cherry Moon — or rather, with what some retailers call Cherry Moon. The reality: most of those flowers are low-cost outdoor lots, dried fast, no real curing, shipped in vacuum bags that flatten the most volatile notes. The result: a generic « red berry » nose, nothing like what the genetics can really produce.

At Horus, we work with a single European source on this variety. Indoor-grown, dried 15 days, cured 30 days in airtight jars. The cost base is higher, the consumer price too. We own that. Our Cherry Moon will never be the cheapest on the market. It might be the best on your shelf.

How to enjoy it best

Cherry Moon is an ideal variety for the end of the day or social downtime. Its relatively « gentle » terpene profile (low in pinene, moderate in limonene) keeps it accessible even for people sensitive to overly intense flowers.

A few usage notes:

  • Vaporisation — the method that reveals the aromatic profile best. Recommended temperature: 175-185°C to preserve the most volatile terpenes (cherry, strawberry).
  • Infusion — works very well for the vanilla notes on the finish. Use 0.2g of crumbled flower per cup, with a fat (whole milk, full-fat plant milk) to solubilise the cannabinoids.
  • Storage — opaque glass jar, away from light and humidity. Cherry Moon loses its candy-like notes faster than average if stored carelessly.

The Horus stance: quality, never a race to the lowest price

We work in a sector where some online shops compete on price to the bottom, too often for products that don't deliver. It's a losing logic for the customer: the flower arrives, smells like hay, burns badly, and you feel you bought flavoured tobacco.

Our position: fewer references, better chosen. Our catalogue isn't bloated because we reject lots that don't keep their promise. We carry one Cherry Moon. The one we're proud to put in a jar. If you find it cheaper elsewhere, it probably doesn't smell the same.

Available at Horus shops in Boulogne-sur-Gesse and L'Isle-en-Dodon, and on our website. Limited stock — every harvest is different, we don't guarantee continuous availability. A small tip: if you find a lot you love, grab a bit more than usual.

To go further on premium varieties: our Permanent Marker take, which pushes aromatic complexity even further. To compare with a premium hash: Mad Avatar Blue Piattella.

Frequently asked questions

Is Cherry Moon indoor or outdoor?

Our version is strictly indoor. That's the condition to keep the cherry-candy nose intense. Outdoor versions exist but they lose much of the aromatic palette under direct sun and night temperature swings.

What's the CBD content for Cherry Moon?

Depending on the batch, between 14 and 19 % CBD for our indoor version. The exact content is on the certificate of analysis shipped with every order. THC strictly below 0.3 % per French regulation.

Is it a daytime or evening variety?

Rather late afternoon / evening. The slightly myrcene-dominant terpene profile pushes it toward relaxation. If you're looking for a daytime variety, consider sativa-dominant ones like Crazy Amnesia.

How can I tell if a Cherry Moon I see elsewhere is comparable quality?

Four signs: (1) buds are dense, no excess sugar leaves, with a visible trichome layer; (2) the nose on opening is intense, fruity, no hay or tobacco edge; (3) the seller provides a recent and readable certificate of analysis; (4) the price is consistent with indoor (under €5/g it's probably outdoor).

How long does Cherry Moon keep its qualities?

3-6 months in an airtight opaque glass jar at stable 18-22°C. Beyond that, the most volatile notes (fresh cherry on the attack) start to fade. The rest of the profile holds much longer. Avoid plastic zip bags for long-term storage.
