Crazy Amnesia CBD: the sativa that wakes you up without shaking you

Crazy Amnesia. If we had to keep just one sativa-dominant flower in the catalogue, this would be it. Coming from the Amnesia Haze line — itself an absolute reference among modern sativas — Crazy Amnesia inherits everything that defines this genetic family: ripe lemon, fresh pine, daytime energy without excess. Our most versatile flower for daytime use.

The origin: the Amnesia line, and what we made of it

The original Amnesia Haze was developed by Dutch breeders in the 1990s, from crosses between a South American Haze, an Afghan indica and a Skunk sativa. The result: a sativa-dominant variety (75/25 roughly), with long airy buds, and a citrus-pine aromatic profile that became its signature.

Crazy Amnesia is a more recent descendant, selected to intensify the terpene profile without pushing cannabinoid levels beyond reasonable. On the CBD version, that's exactly what we want: a flower with a marked aromatic experience, without overall intensity exceeding daytime use.

The aromatic profile in detail

The Crazy Amnesia nose is immediately recognisable. Three main notes:

  • Ripe lemon — very intense opening note, fresh, almost citrus cologne. From a strongly marked limonene, among the most present we encounter on European CBD flowers.
  • Alpine pine — mid-palate, fresh, resinous, green. From alpha-pinene also found in White Widow but more airy here, less earthy.
  • Light incense-wood — on the finish, more discreet, from terpinolene. Adds an elevation that extends the citrus-pine freshness without weighing it down.

This limonene-pinene dominance explains the « energetic » feel of Crazy Amnesia. Terpenes aren't trivial — they contribute to the subjective perception we have of a variety, what scientific research calls the entourage effect.

Our version: why Crazy Amnesia at Horus

Like White Widow, Amnesia is one of those varieties whose name is so famous that careless shops use it to sell any generic sativa flower. The aromatic promise isn't kept: you buy « Amnesia » and get a flower without clean lemon, without bright pine, without that characteristic elevation. « Neutral sativa » labelled Amnesia.

Our Crazy Amnesia is selected from a European grower who masters the long drying phase (15+ days), critical to preserve limonene — an extremely volatile terpene that evaporates in days if the flower is dried too fast. Fast drying is the main mistake that turns a good Amnesia into a flower without character. We don't make that compromise.

Strictly indoor, batch traceability, certificate of analysis included. The reference of the sativa segment, treated as seriously as our indica varieties.

How to enjoy it

Crazy Amnesia is the ideal flower for daytime. Our usage notes:

  • Morning vaporisation — the gold standard for this variety. Ideal temperature 175-185°C: hot enough to release limonene and pinene, not too hot to preserve their freshest notes. Above 195°C, you lose the citrus dimension.
  • Lemon-ginger tea — natural pairing. The terpene's lemon meets the fruit's lemon, ginger adds zing. 0.2g per cup, 8 min infusion, fatty milk for solubilisation.
  • Baking — Crazy Amnesia surprisingly works in lemon cookies or financiers — the citrus terpene profile extends through baking.

Storage: tinted glass jar, away from light. Limonene is volatile, so absolutely avoid plastic bags for long-term storage. 4-6 months in glass jar is the sweet spot.

The Horus stance: the sativa that earns its name

A good CBD sativa needs to do three things simultaneously: have a specific terpene profile (not « generic sativa »), be grown under conditions that preserve that profile, and reach you without losing half its qualities along the way. Three conditions that, together, explain why our Crazy Amnesia isn't the cheapest on the market.

If you compare it side by side with a discount « Amnesia », the difference hits you the moment the jar opens. Don't take our word for it — run the test, it's the only way to grasp what we defend.

Available at Horus shops in Boulogne-sur-Gesse and L'Isle-en-Dodon, and shipped from our site.

Frequently asked questions

Is Crazy Amnesia really a sativa?

Sativa-dominant (75/25 roughly). Meaning it inherits typically sativa traits — citrus-pine aromatic profile, more airy feel — with a touch of indica that moderates intensity. That's what makes it very versatile for daytime use.

Is it suitable for a workday?

Rather yes, given that CBD doesn't produce a psychotropic effect. The limonene-pinene terpene profile is associated with a subjective feel of clarity rather than torpor. Many users tell us they use it mid-morning or early afternoon without bother.

What's the CBD content?

Between 14 and 18 % CBD depending on the batch. THC strictly below 0.3 %. Certificate of analysis included with every order.

How do you tell a quality Crazy Amnesia?

The opening sniff test: if it doesn't smell of clean lemon and fresh pine, it's been poorly dried or poorly stored. Limonene disappears fast — a good Amnesia keeps that profile for months in a glass jar, but loses it in days in a plastic bag. Bud colour should also lean light green-yellow, never brown.

Why « Crazy » in Crazy Amnesia?

It's the commercial name given by the breeder to this Amnesia Haze descendant, selected for its intensified terpene profile. The « crazy » refers to aromatic power, not to a psychotropic effect (reminder: CBD isn't psychoactive).
