CBD Oils: Complete Buying and Usage Guide

How to read a CBD oil label, pick a concentration, work out a dosage and spot a good full-spectrum oil: a practical, jargon-free guide.

CBD Oils: Complete Buying and Usage Guide

CBD oil is the least legally contested format in France, and the most regulated. It is also where quality gaps are the widest — a carefully CO₂-extracted oil and a low-cost import are not the same product, even when labels look alike.

Reading a label in 30 seconds

  • CBD content — percentage (5, 10, 20, 30 %) or mg per bottle. A 10 mL bottle at 10 % contains 1000 mg of CBD.
  • Spectrum type — full, broad or isolate.
  • Carrier oil — MCT, hemp, olive. Different taste and stability.
  • Batch number and analysis certificate — non-negotiable.

Which concentration?

  1. 5 % — discovery, high sensitivity.
  2. 10 % — common, versatile.
  3. 20 % — experienced users.
  4. 30 %+ — advanced, handle sparingly.

Working out a reference dose

A drop weighs about 0.05 mL. On a 10 % oil, that is around 5 mg CBD per drop. Count drops rather than guess. Many users start with 2-3 drops in the evening, then adjust by feel.

The Horus stance

We favour supercritical CO₂ extraction, no solvent residue, and full traceability. Our oils are designed for regular use, not for the "70 % off" online flash-sale circus. Visit us in Boulogne-sur-Gesse or L'Isle-en-Dodon — we take the time to explain the right concentration.
