CBD massage: topical oils, simple techniques and cosmetic limits

CBD massage is first and foremost a cosmetic gesture. We tour the formulas, simple movements to learn and what to know before buying a balm.

CBD massage: topical oils, simple techniques and cosmetic limits

CBD massage has become a full-fledged cosmetic category. Like any cosmetic, it should be judged on formula, feel and commercial honesty — not therapeutic promises the law does not allow.

Topical: what it means

A topical oil or balm sits on the skin. Cannabinoid penetration through the skin barrier is limited and still researched. The honest line: the massage gesture itself has a long care history, and the fatty support hydrates.

Reading a CBD balm formula

  • Fat base: plant oil (olive, high-oleic sunflower, jojoba) rather than mineral oil.
  • Wax: unrefined shea butter, organic beeswax or plant wax.
  • CBD concentration stated and verifiable via certificate of analysis.
  • Scents: essential oils at reasonable dose, no harsh synthetics.

Three simple movements

  • Effleurage — flat hand, light pressure, slow strokes along the muscle.
  • Kneading — gripping and releasing muscle mass between palm and fingers.
  • Static pressure — thumb firmly on a point for 5 to 10 seconds.

The Horus stance

We sell cosmetics, not promises. In our shops in Boulogne-sur-Gesse and L'Isle-en-Dodon we let you smell the balm and read the formula with you.
