In a few years, vaporisation has become the preferred mode of consumption for demanding consumers. It heats the flower without burning it, releases terpene aromatics without destroying them, and avoids combustion smoke. But you still have to understand what you are doing — otherwise an expensive device just gives you a burnt popcorn taste.
Conduction or convection: two schools
In a conduction vaporiser, the flower sits in direct contact with a heated surface. Fast start-up, lower cost, but a real risk of scorching the edges if you pack too tight.
In a convection vaporiser, hot air is drawn through the flower. The heating is more even, the aromatic result cleaner, the device more expensive. This is the connoisseur standard.
The temperature steps that matter
- 160-180 °C — light terpenes (lemon, pine, mint), very soft vapour. Good for limonene or pinene-dominant flowers.
- 180-200 °C — the comfort zone. Main cannabinoids released, intermediate terpenes (linalool, beta-caryophyllene), full taste.
- 200-220 °C — dense, woodier, thick vapour. Keep this for the end of a session, or you will burn the noble aromas.
A good session starts low and climbs step by step. This is the "step session" — each step pulls a different aromatic layer from the same flower.
Preparing the flower
Grind matters as much as temperature. Too fine clogs the screen and burns; too coarse lets air pass without extracting much. Aim for a medium grain. A well-cured Permanent Marker or a lemony Crazy Amnesia give their best between 180 and 195 °C.
The Horus stance

That is why we will not sell you any flower while saying "it'll vape just fine". A good vape starts with proper drying and curing, not with the price of the device.
