What really happens in the tub
A hot bath, with no CBD, is already a notable physiological event: heat dilates surface vessels, relaxes muscles, and draws a clean line between day and night. The ritual has an effect; the bath bomb is a complement, not the main driver.
CBD in bath water is a particular case: it is very poorly water-soluble, and current science says little about real transdermal passage in a diluted bath. Honestly: what we know is that the bath is pleasant. The rest belongs to a still young literature.
What makes a good bath bomb
- A clean base — baking soda, citric acid, shea butter, plant oils, Epsom salts.
- Restrained essential oils — too much can irritate sensitive skin.
- Readable CBD dosage — how many mg, which extract.
- No medical claim — a product that promises to heal is telling stories.
Who is it for?
For adults who enjoy long rituals and see CBD as one ingredient in a sensory experience. Not for a fast, sharp effect — for that, look at vape or sublingual.
Simple precautions
Essential oils are not trivial. Avoid CBD baths with essential oils during pregnancy, with young children, or on damaged skin. Reactive skin tests on the inner elbow first.
